I Wish You Not to Live in Times of Change

On June 3, 2023, an important event took place in my life: my son was born. Along with the experience of parenthood, I began to see how a young person changes every day. I started to record how my child develops, how he grows, to compare his photos with mine. While viewing and comparing archival photos and new images, I realized that I was born in time  when Ukraine was going through difficult times. I remember a toast from my childhood during birthday celebrations - "I wish you not to live in times of change." I did not think about this phrase before my own child was born in 2023, in evacuation - I began to understand the full depth of it, and I began to see similarities between my fate and the fate of my son. Studying the photo-video archives and stories of my parents about 1989-1991 and the archive of my parenthood 2023-2024, I want to see the matches of the stories and to understand better the times of change in which my son and I were born.
